SALOP. Inq. made at Duddelbury, 8 March, 13 Edward III.
Lauton. The hamlet (extent given) held of the king in chief, as of the honour of Monte Gomeri, by service of giving the king a barbed arrow as often as he shall come into those parts to hunt in his chace of Corvdon.
He held no other lands &c. in the county on the day he died.
Richard his son, aged 40 years and more at the feast of St. Michael last, is his next heir.

Weston Bradwardyne. The manor (extent given) held of Roger de Radenor by service of 1lb. pepper yearly.
Bradwardyne. A messuage and 16s. rent held of the earl of Hereford by service of a twentieth part of a knight’s fee.

Truleye. The manor (extent given) held of her own inheritance, of the king in chief, as of the honour of Dover, by service of rendering at the castle of Dover 20s. every twenty weeks.
Wornesulle. The manor (extent given), with a moiety of the advowson of the church, held of the king in chief, as of the honour of Dover, by service of rendering at the castle of Dover 5s. every twenty weeks.
Thomas de Dyen, son of the said Elizabeth, whom the said William de Dyen, as yet surviving, late her husband, lawfully begat after marriage celebrated between them, aged 22 years, is her next heir.

Bradewell. Two parts of a messuage, lands, rent &c. (extent given), held of the king, as of the honour of Haule, by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee, and suit at the court of Haule every month.
Purle. A messuage and lands; whereof the messuage, 30a. land, and 3a. pasture, are held of the bishop of Norwich by service of 15 3/4d. every thirty weeks yearly; 16a. land and 3a. wood are held of William Horewold and Cecily his wife by service of 7s. yearly; 16a. land are held of the prior of Christ Church, Canterbury, by service of 8s. yearly; and 18a. land are held of Walter de Tyllyngham by service of 6d. yearly.
Robert her son, aged 24 years and more, is her next heir.

229. RANULPH DE DAKRE or DE DACRE.
Writ, 20 April, 13 Edward III.
WESTMORELAND. Inq. taken at Appelby on Monday before the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 13 Edward III.
Barton. The said Ranulph and Margaret his wife, who still survives, some time purchased a messuage of John de Lancastria, to hold to them and the heirs of the said Ranulph; which Ranulph and Margaret granted the said messuage to the said John de Lanc(astria) and Annora his wife, for their lives with reversion to the said Ranulph and Margaret and the heirs of the said Ranulph; and the said John died about four years ago, and Annora about a year and a half ago. The said messuage is held of the king in chief, as of the crown, by service of a twentieth part of a knight’s fee; and immediately after the death of the said Annora it was taken into the king’s hand by the late escheator, who delivered the same by indenture to the present escheator, and it is yet in the king’s hand because the said Ranulph and Margaret have not as yet prosecuted their right thereto.
Barton. The manor held jointly as above, except the said messuage and 1,000a. moor and pasture, of William de Councy and William de Twenge by fealty and by service of rendering two sore sparrowhawks yearly.
Hoff. The manor held jointly as above of Robert de Clifford by homage and fealty, and by service of 9s. 2d. yearly for cornage.
He held no other lands &c. in the county on the day he died.
William his son, aged 20 years and more, is his next heir.
CUMBERLAND. Inq. taken at Carlisle on Saturday before the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 13 Edward III.
Irthyngton and Burgh on Sands. The manors, and 1,000a. wood in the manor of Laysyngby, and the advowsons of the priory of Lanercost and of the church of Ayketon, held jointly with Margaret his wife, who still survives, by fine levied in the king’s court between the said Ranulph and Margaret, plaintiffs, and William de Burgh, parson of the church of Dacre, and Robert Parvyng, deforciants, to hold to the said Ranulph and Margaret and the heirs of their bodies, of the king and his heirs, by the services pertaining thereto for ever. The said manor of Irthyngton is held of the king in chief by homage and fealty and by service of a knight’s fee; the manor of Burgh on Sands is held of the king in chief by homage and fealty and by rendering 9l. 13s. 4d. for cornage yearly to the king at his exchequer of Carlisle by the hands of the sheriff of Cumberland; the 1,000a. wood in the manor of Laysingby are held of the king in chief, as parcel of the said manor of Burgh on Sands, by the service aforesaid; the advowson of the priory of Lanercost is held of the king in chief, as parcel of the said manor of Irthyngton, by the service aforesaid; and the advowson of. the church of Ayketon is held of the king in chief, as parcel of the said manor of Burgh-on-Sands, by the service aforesaid.
Kyrkosewald. The manor, and the advowson of the church, held jointly as above of the king in chief, as parcel of the said manor of Burgh on Sands, by the service aforesaid.
Dacre. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held for his life, by fine levied in the court of King Edward II, between the said Ranulph and the said William de Burgh and Robert Parvyng: which manor and advowson the said William and Robert granted to the said Ranulph, to hold to him of the chief lords of that fee, by the services pertaining thereto, for his life, with remainder to William, son of the said Ranulph, and the heirs of his body for ever. The manor is held of the heir of the barony of Graystok, a minor and in the wardship of Sir Ralph de Nevyll by the king’s grant, by divers services, as of the manor of Graystok, viz.—the manor and town of Dacre are held of the said heir by fealty, and by service of 8d. yearly for cornage and suit at the said heir’s court of Graystok every three weeks; the hamlet of Mosedale, parcel of the manor of Dacre, is held of the said heir by fealty and by service of 2d. yearly for cornage; the hamlet of Thakthweyt, parcel of the manor of Dacre, is held of the said heir by fealty, and by service of 1d. yearly for cornage; the hamlet of Souleby, parcel of the manor of Dacre, is held of the said heir by homage and fealty, and by service of 5s. yearly for cornage; the hamlet of Neubynggyngg and the hamlet of Blencowe, parcels of the said manor of Dacre, are held of the said heir by homage and fealty, and by service of 3s. yearly for cornage.

Writ of certiorari to the king’s treasurer and chamberlains concerning the tenor of the abovesaid fine of 17 Edward II, 4 July, 13 Edward III.
Foot of Fine, made at Westminster, on the morrow of St. John the Baptist, 17 Edward II, before William de Bereford, and other justices, between Ranulph de Dacre and Margaret his wife, plaintiffs, and William de Burgh, parson of the church of Dacre, and Robert Parvyng, deforciants, touching the manors of Irthington, Burgh on Sands, and Leysyngby, and the advowsons of the priory of Lanercost and the church of Ayketon; and afterwards granted and recorded at York, three weeks from the day of St. Michael, 2 Edward III, before William de Herle and other justices and faithful men of the king. And thereof a plea of covenant was summoned between them in the said court of King Edward II, viz.—that the said Ranulph and Margaret acknowledge the said manors and advowsons to be the right of the said William and Robert; whereof the said William and Robert have the said advowsons, 1,000a. wood in the manor of Leysyngby, and two parts of the manors of Irthington and Burgh, of the gift of the said Ranulph and Margaret, and the reversion of the third part of the said manors of Irthington and Burgh, which John de Castre and Isabel his wife held in dower of the said Isabel of the inheritance of the said Margaret; and for this acknowledgment the said William and Robert granted to the said Ranulph and Margaret the said advowsons, wood, and the said two parts, and restored them in the said court to them, to hold to them and the heirs of their bodies, of the king and his heirs, by the services thereto pertaining, and also the reversion of the manor of Leysyngby, except the 1,000a. wood therein which William de Multon held for his life; with successive remainders to William, son of the said Ranulph and Margaret, and the heirs of his body; to Thomas and Ranulph, brothers of the said William, and the heirs of their bodies; and to the right heirs of the said Margaret. This concord was made in the presence of the said Isabel and William de Multon, who did fealty to the said Ranulph and Margaret in the court.

Gyddelegh. The manor held, as of the right of his wife, of the king at fee farm by service of rendering at the king’s exchequer 72s. 1d. by the hands of the sheriff.
Aveton Giffard. The manor held of Hugh de Cortenay, earl of Devon, of the honour of the castle of Plympton, by knight’s service.
Stodbery. A carucate of land held of John de Stonor by knight’s service, as of his fee of Bykeford.
Holbogheton. A third part of the manor held, as of the right of his wife, of John de Mohoun by knight’s service.
Flytte Daumarle. Two carucates of land held of the said earl, of the honour of the castle aforesaid, service unspecified.
Northywysh. A carucate of land held of James de Cobeham, of his manor of Wodeford, by knight’s service.

The aforesaid John Daumarle enfeoffed John Rydeler and John de Notteden, chaplain [or (?) chaplains] of all the said lands at Flutte, Northywysh, Sydenham Daumarle and Tavy St. Mary, to them and their heirs for ever, who afterwards enfeoffed the said John Daumarle for his life by fine levied in the king’s court, and afterwards they enfeoffed John son of John Daumarle and John son of John de Chevereston, and the heirs of their bodies, by the fine aforesaid.

231. THOMAS DE PONYNGES.

KENT. Inq. 12 November, 13 Edward III.
Terlyngeham. A moiety of the manor, with a moiety of the hundred of Falkstan (extent given), held of the king in chief by service of a sixteenth part of a knight’s fee, as of the crown of England; and from the pleas and perquisites of the said hundred (-court) are due to the king, for the ward of the castle of Dover, 7s. yearly, and by the hands of the sheriff of Kent 10s. yearly.
Westwode. The manor (extent given), held for his life of the castle of Ledes by service of a knight’s fee and suit of court every three weeks; the reversion whereof belongs to Michael his son, and the heirs of his body, by a fine levied in the king’s court, and there are of rents resolute viz.—63s. 2 1/2d. to the abbot of Faveresham, 14s. to the prior of Christ Church, Canterbury, and 4s. 10d. to divers other lords.
He died on 17 October in the year abovesaid. Michael his son, aged 22 years and more, is his next heir.

Chesham Boys. Certain tenements (extent given), with the advowson of the chapel there, held jointly with Margery his wife, who still survives, of the gift and enfeoffment of Edmund le Gode and Walter de Holcote, to hold to the said John and Margery, and the heirs of the said John, of Geoffrey de Bulstrode by knight’s service.

Alvythele. The manor (full extent given), including several pastures called Fennes, a market every Monday, carriage with the lord’s cart from the market place to the river Thames, and a ferry with a boat across the river, held of the king in chief, as of the crown, by knight’s service, quantity unknown.
West Thurrok. The manor (full extent given), including pastures called Hallelese, Micheles tenement, Cherchelese, with certain particulars called ‘le ʒoungeshope’ and Canglis, and Stotteslese, a ferry with a boat across the Thames, a place called Farndon, and a custom called ‘Londonfares,’ held to him and the heirs of his body, with remainder to William de Wauton, knight, and his heirs, for ever, by fine levied in the king’s court. The said manor, except the tenement called Michelestenement and a certain small parcel of marsh, is held of the earl of Richemund, by service of a knight’s fee; the said tenement is held of William de Bumsted by service of 1lb. pepper (worth?) 12d., in socage; and the said parcel of marsh is held. of the heir of John le Vynter by service of 7s. 6d. yearly; and the sheriff of Essex ought to receive yearly of the said manor for his turn, 4s. 4d.
There is no right heir apparent of the said John at present, because his wife is pregnant and expecting the time of her delivery.
ESSEX. Indenture of assignment of dower to Margery, late the wife of the said John, made in the presence of John de Potteneye, to whom the king has committed the wardship of two parts of the said lands &c. 21 May, 13 Edward III.
Alvithele. Part of the capital messuage, garden, and pasture, with free ingress and egress to the church through the middle of the court, a third part of the arable land in the large field, land in Cartereslond and ‘la Dene ‘and the marsh, a croft called Pecokkescroft, meadow, part of ‘les Fennis ’ or ‘Fannis,’ which cannot be measured on account of the inundation of water, rents, a third part of the stallage in the market and of the fair there and of the perquisites of portmotes, of the carriage with a cart from the said market to the river Thames, and of the ferry with a boat across the Thames and towards London; a third part of the view of frankpledge, and of waifs, strays, and wreck of the sea &c. (full extent given), with field names and names of tenants).
West Thurrokk. Parts of the hall, chambers, kitchen, fountain, granges, park, oxhouse, stable, chapel, garden, lands &c. (full extent given with field names and names of tenants &c.), including lands between ‘le Regweye’ and ‘le Bromhel,’ a third part of Farndon, parts of meadows and pastures, and rents (extent given with field names and names of tenants), a third part of a ferry with a boat across the Thames between Thurrokke and Grenehethe, and of view of frankpledge, waifs, strays, wreck of the sea &c.

233. JOAN, DAUGHTER AND HEIR OF JOHN DE BREAUNTZOUN.

Alvythele. Two parts of the manor (extent given), including certain several pastures called Fennes, a market every Monday, carriage with the lord’s cart from the market place to the river Thames, and a ferry with a boat across the river, are in the king’s hand, by reason of her minority; which manor is held of the king in chief, as of the crown, by knight’s service, quantity unknown.
She died, a minor and in the king’s wardship, on 11 August. William, son of Swetman de Alvythele, aged 40 years and more, is her next heir.
West Thurrok. Two parts of the manor (full extent given), and the advowson of the church, are in the king’s hand as abovesaid, and they are held of the earl of Richemund by knight’s service, except a certain tenement called Micheles tenement, which is held of William de Bumpsted by knight’s service, rendering yearly to him 1lb. pepper; including pastures called Hallelese and Cherchelese, and a pasture in the marsh called Stottelese, a ferry with a boat across the Thames, and a plot called Fardon. The said manor and advowson ought to remain to William de Wauton, knight, son and heir of William de Wauton, the younger, and to his heirs for ever, by virtue of a fine levied in the court of King Edward II, in the 7th year of his reign, at Westminster, before the justices of the Bench, between John de Breanzoun and Elizabeth his wife, plaintiffs, and Nicholas Frimbaud, the younger, deforciant, touching the said manor and advowson, whereon a plea of covenant was summoned between them, viz.—that the said John acknowledged the said manor and advowson to be the right of the said Nicholas &c. and the said Nicholas granted to the said John and Elizabeth the said manor and advowson, and restored them to them in the said court, to hold to the said John and Elizabeth, and the heirs of their bodies, of the chief lords of that fee, by the service thereto pertaining, with remainder to William de Wauton, the younger, and his heirs; and because there is no heir of the bodies of the said John and Elizabeth, nor of any of their heirs, the said manor and advowson ought to remain to the said William and his heirs for ever.

ESSEX. Inq. taken at Halsted, 21 October, 13 Edward III.
Beauchamp William. The manor, except a ninth part of the same, which John de Veer, earl of Oxford, holds in his demesne as of fee. The whole manor is held of the earl of Oxford by service of two knights’ fees and a half.
Gosfeld. A messuage, 55a. land, 10 1/2a. meadow, and 200a. great wood in the park and Edwyneshey, held of John de Lyston, knight, by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee; 25a. land held of John Hundercoumbe by service of 6s. 8d. yearly; 4 1/2a. land held of John Edward by service of 8d. yearly; 20a. land and 4a. wood held of Edward de Montehermero by service of 2d. yearly; and 2a. pasture held of Philip Ostage by service of 1d. yearly.
Bockyngg. 30a. land held of the prior of Christ Church, Canterbury, by service of 6s. yearly; and 30a. land held of Richard le Peyntour by service of 6s. yearly.
Gosfeld. 30a. wood in the park of Gosfeld by Codhamfeld held of the earl of Gloucester by knight’s service, as parcel of the manor of Overehalle of Gestnyngthorp.
Long before his death he demised the manor of Gestnyngthorp, with the advowson of the church there, to John le Fermer and Edmund le Botiller, to hold to them, or either of them, for life, rendering yearly for the first six years a rose, and thereafter 40l. yearly; which manor of Gestnyngthorp, with the advowson of the church, is held of the earl of Gloucester, by service of half a knight’s fee, except certain lands and tenements called Kukkokesfee, Colne fee, and Stokefee, which are held of the earl of Oxford by knight’s service, and except certain lands and tenements called Netherehallefee, which are held of the earl of Suffolk by knight’s service.
And the said John, long before his death, demised the manor of Beauchamp Otes, and also all the lands and tenements which he had in Beauchamp St. Ethelbert, Foxherde, Pentelawe, and Beauchamp St. Paul, together with the rents and services there, to Ada, late the wife of John de Sancto Philberto, to hold to the said Ada and her heirs for ever, together with the advowsons of the churches of Beauchamp Otes and St. Ethelbert; which said manor &c. are held of the king, as of the honour of Boulogne, by service of a knight’s fee. And the said John, long before his death, demised a fulling-mill in Halsted to John Dyn, knight, Margery his wife, and John de Boys, to hold for their lives, rendering yearly, after the end of six years next following the date of the said demise, to the said John and his heirs, 66s. 8d. yearly; which mill is held of Robert Busser, knight, by service of 1lb. pepper and 2d. yearly.

Writ to the escheator to take the proof of age of the said John, whose father held of the heir of Simon de Northwode, lately in the king’s wardship, by knight’s service, and who was born at Aketon, co. Suffolk, and baptized in the church there, as is said, 3 June, 13 Edward III.

236. NICHOLAS SON AND HEIR OF PAULINUS PEYVRE.
BUCKINGHAM. Proof of age, taken at Aylesbury on Thursday after St. James the Apostle, 13 Edward III. (fragment).
Thomas FitzNel, aged 50 years, says that the said Nicholas was 21 years of age on Wednesday, the eve of St. Mary Magdalene last, for he was born at Querndon, co. Buckingham, on the eve of the said feast, 9 Edward II, and was baptized in the church there; and this he knows because in the same year in which the said Nicholas was born, Robert de Monte Alto was assigned in place of Sir Aymer de Valencia, then earl of Pembroke, to keep ward of the marches of Scotland, and the same Thomas was then staying with the said Robert, as a man at arms for …… and, on his return in the year following, he married his wife, by which he sufficiently remembers that the said Nicholas is 21 years of age.
[William] Sime, aged 60 years, agrees, and knows it because for a year and more before the birth of the said Nicholas, Robert le Fitz Neel appointed him steward of all his lands and tenements, by a certain writing made between them, by the date whereof he sufficiently remembers &c.

237. BEATRICE, LATE THE WIFE OF JOHN DE BLOUNVILL.
Writ of certiorari, whereas the king has been given to understand that the said Beatrice held for life, of the inheritance of John son of Edmund de Benstede, a minor and in the king’s wardship, a messuage and a carucate of land in Heygham, co. Essex, the wardship whereof ought to pertain to the king by reason of the minority of the said heir; and that certain persons, since the death of the said Beatrice, have entered upon the same, and occupy them, by receiving to their own use the issues and profits, in contempt of the king, and manifest danger of disherison of the said heir; the king desires to be certified what estate the said Beatrice had in the same &c. 24 May, 13 Edward III.
ESSEX. Inq. made at Waltham Holy Cross on Tuesday, the feast of SS. Peter and Paul, 13 Edward III.
Heygham. The said Beatrice, who died two years and a half ago, held a messuage and a carucate of land, for her life, of the demise of Alexander de Balliolo of Caures, who demised them to Robert de Gravele and the said Beatrice, then his wife, to hold for their lives, with remainder to John de Benstede and his heirs, by fine levied in the court of King Edward I; by virtue whereof the reversion of those tenements pertains to John, son and heir of Edmund de Benstede son of the abovesaid John, a minor and in the king’s wardship; and thus the wardship of the same pertains to the king, by reason of the minority of the said heir, for the said tenements are held of the king in chief, as of the crown, by service of a sixth part of a knight’s fee.
Henry de Cheyny, citizen of London, has occupied those tenements from the time of the death of the said Beatrice, and received the issues, as the jurors understand.

238. JOHN DE CAYNES.
Writ of certiorari, on the petition of Hugh le Despenser, son and heir of Eleanor, late the wife of Hugh le Despenser, his father, praying that whereas the king lately caused to be restored to the said Eleanor all the lands &c. which were of her inheritance and in the king’s hand after the death of the said Hugh the father, he would cause to be delivered to him the lands &c. in Wynkelegh, co. Devon, which John de Caynes, deceased, held of the inheritance of the said Eleanor by knight’s service, and which, as he asserts, were taken into the king’s hand by reason of the death of the said John and of the minority of his heir; the wardship whereof now pertains to him, together with the body of that heir; 25 October, 13 Edward III.
DEVON. Inq. taken at Exeter on Tuesday, the feast of St. Andrew, 13 Edward III.
Wynkelegh. A carucate of land, held, as of the honour of Gloucester, by service of half a knight’s fee; which land was of the said Eleanor’s inheritance, which was taken into the king’s hand by the forfeiture of the said Hugh, sometime her husband, and for no other cause.
Weryngeston. A carucate of land, held by service of a sixth part of a knight’s fee, of the manor of Braneys, which is in the hand of Hugh Daudele, by the assignment of his wife’s dower from the lands pertaining to the earl of Cornwall.
Thorry by Hertilaund. A carucate of land, held of John de Dynham, by service of 1lb. pepper.
He died on Thursday next before St. Michael, 2 Edward III. Thomas, his son, aged 11 years at Christmas next, is his next heir.

239. THOMAS DE GOURNEYE.
Writ of plenius certiorari to Richard Lovel and others on the petition of Thomas de Gourneye showing that Thomas de Gourneye, his father, now deceased, held in his life time in fee tail the manors of Inglescombe, Farnton, and Westharpetre, co. Somerset, of the gift of Anselm de Gourneye, sometime lord of the said manors, who by his charters gave those manors to Thomas, his son, to hold to him and the heirs of his body; which manors, after the death of the said Thomas son of Anselm, descended successively, by virtue of the said gift, to Thomas his son, and to the said Thomas son of the said Thomas, father of Thomas now petitioning, to whom after his father’s death they ought reasonably to descend by the form of the said gift; which manors also were lately taken into the king’s hand through the forfeiture of the said Thomas last deceased, and there remain; and praying that the king would order his hand to be removed from the said manors, and the same to be restored to the said Thomas, son and heir of the said Thomas last deceased, now petitioning, as his right and inheritance; 4 November, 13 Edward III. Inglescombe, Farnton, and Westharpetre. Anselm de Gourneye, sometime lord of these manors, gave them by his charters to Thomas de Gourneye, his son, and to the heirs of his body, viz.—the manor of Inglescombe, on Friday next after the Sunday on which is sung Letare Jerusalem [Mid-Lent], 14 Edward I; the manor of Farnton, on Sunday next after the Translation of St. Thomas the Martyr, 13 Edward I; and the manor of Westharpetre, in the 15th year of the said king; and by the form of the said gift the said manors descended, after the death of the same Thomas son of Anselm, to Thomas his son, and after his death, to the aforesaid Thomas, father of the Thomas who is now petitioning; and they were successively seised thereof, and continued their seisin without altering in any way their estate therein. The manors of Inglescombe and Farnton are held of Thomas de Gourneye, lord of Estharpetre, by service of a rose yearly for each; and the manor of Westharpetre is held of Sir Richard Lovel by service of a dozen quarrels yearly.
The petitioner Thomas, aged 21 years on the octave of the Purification next, is next heir of the said Thomas now deceased.

NORTHAMPTON. Inq. taken at Bolewyk on Monday after St. Matthias the Apostle, 14 Edward III.
Little Weldon and Rokyngham. A messuage, lands and rent (extent given), held as of the right of Margaret his wife, who still survives, of the king in chief by service of keeping fifteen of the king’s buckhounds for forty days in Lent at his own costs, viz.—for each dog 1/2d. daily, and for one berner for keeping the said dogs 1 1/2d. daily, and after the forty days, at the king’s cost, taking for the dogs as above, and for his wages 12d. daily and his robes as other servants of the king of the same condition take, and for a veutrer 2d. daily and his robe yearly, and for two berners 3d. daily and their robes, and for a ‘catskyn’ 1d. daily.
John, son of the said Thomas and Margaret, aged 18 years and more, is their next heir.
BERKS. Inq. made at Neubury, 16 February, 14 Edward III.
Benham. The manor held for life, as of the right and inheritance of Margaret his wife, who still survives, of the king by service of finding an armed horseman for the king’s war within the realm of England, for forty days, at his own charges.

Sheffield. … all [his mills in?] Hallamschire were charged, by the grant of the ancestors of the lord of the manor and tenements aforesaid, in 11l. 11s. 8d. (?) yearly from the said mills to the prior and convent of Wyrkesop and their successors for ever, which prior &c. were seised of the same peaceably until the death of the said Thomas; and also, by the like grant, in 33s. 4d. yearly to the abbot and convent of Beauchief and their successors for ever, and they were likewise seised thereof until the death of the said Thomas; and the said mills of Sheffeld were charged, by the like grant, in 66s. 8d. yearly to the master of the hospital of St. Leonard by Sheffeld and his successors for ever, which master and his predecessors continued seisin of the same until the death of the said Thomas; and all the said mills were charged by the said Thomas in 50 marks yearly to Thomas his son, who still survives, and to Margaret his wife in free marriage, which said Thomas and Margaret were seised thereof for three years and more, until the death of the said Thomas.
The said Thomas, his son, aged 17 years, is his next heir.
Treton. Two manors and other lands and tenements were demised by the said Thomas to Robert de Bosevyll and Joan his wife for their lives, rendering a rose yearly to the said Sir Thomas and his heirs for a term of six years, beginning from the date of the grant, and, after the six years, 100 marks yearly during their lives. The said manors &c. are not parcel of the manor of Sheffeld, nor are they held of the king in chief, but of Sir Geoffrey Luttrell, service unknown.
He died on Thursday next before St. Denis, 13 Edward III.
