Mersche Gybewyne. A messuage and 4 virgates of land, held jointly with Margaret his wife, for their lives, and to the said Richard’s heirs, of the abbot of Greysteyne by knight’s service and 20s. 6d. yearly rent.
Thornberg. The manor, held of Hugh de Plecy by service of half a knight’s fee, was granted by the said Richard, by fine levied in the king’s court, to Giles de Insula who still survives, and Aline his wife who is dead, for their lives; who continued their seisin for eleven years and more, until the said Giles permitted the said Richard to hold the manor at the will of the said Giles, so that the said Richard died as tenant only of the manor, the free tenement remaining always in the said Giles.

Staunton Seynt Johan. 3a. meadow held of John de Lageham by service of a sparrowhawk, price half a mark, to be paid by the heir of the said John after the death of each lord, in the name of acknowledgement (recognicionis), and by service of one attendance at the said John’s court in Staunton after Michaelmas.
Hedyndon. The manor, with the hundreds of Bolyndene and without the north gate of Oxford, held of the king at fee farm, rendering 81l. yearly at the king’s exchequer.

Bukkenhull. The manor held of Hugh de Pleycy by service of a knight’s fee; and it is charged to Oylard de Welles in 8 marks yearly for his life, and to Sir Hugh the chaplain in 5 marks yearly for his life.
Sexyntone, a hamlet in Bukkenhulle. Certain lands &c. held of Robert de Craunford by service of 40s. yearly; and they are charged to Maud de Sexyntone in 40s. yearly for her life.
Godyndone. Two parts of the town held of the king at fee farm, rendering 10 marks yearly at the king’s exchequer.

The manor (extent given), including rents at Welhawe which pertains to the said manor, and stallage of the market and fair at Welhawe on St. Swithun’s day, held for her life, of the inheritance of Margery and Margaret, daughters of Richard de Folioth, of Thomas de Thornhawe, as of the manor of Thornhawe, by service of a knight’s fee.
Margery the wife of Hugh de Adstyng, aged 17 years and more, and Margaret the wife of John de Camoys, aged 16 years, daughters of Richard de Foliot, are her next heirs.
YORK. Inq. Tuesday after the Ascension, 4 Edward III.
Norton. The manor (extent given), held for her life, as of the inheritance of the above-named Margery and Margaret, of Lady Philippa, queen of England, as of the honour of Pontefract, now in the said queen’s hand, by knight’s service.
Fenewyk. A messuage with the herbage of the park in which it is situated, lands, a windmill, a fishery, rents and a foreign wood (extent given), held as above of the said queen by the service aforesaid.

Brantingham. 35s. 5d. yearly rent held as dower, of the inheritance of the aforesaid Margery and Margaret, of Sir Thomas de Wake, lord of Lydelle, by knight’s service.

Two messuages, lands and rent held, together with John his brother, by fine levied in the king’s court, in 15 days from Easter, 8 Edward II, between the said William and John, and Robert de Kerlyngton, of the heirs of William Simunde by service of 14d. yearly.

The manor sometime held of the heirs of Thomas de Oteleie as of the manor called ‘le Netherhalle de Oteleie’ by service of 5s. yearly for ward of the castle of Lancaster. The said William gave the said manor, in the first year of Edward III, to Richard Lieu, knight, and Robert de Kertlyngton, vicar of the church of Codenham, together with certain tenements in the same town which are held of the prior of the church of Holy Trinity, Ipswich, by service of 11s. yearly, certain tenements in the same town which are held of the prior of St. Peter’s, Ipswich, by service of 3s. yearly, a yearly rent of 20s. from tenants in Scarneston, which is held of William de Bello Compo by service of a tenth part of a knight’s fee, a yearly rent of 20s. in Beilham which is held of Oliver de Booun by service of a gillyflower yearly, and certain tenements in Ipswich which are held of divers burgesses of the same town by services unknown at present; to hold the same to the said Richard and Robert for their lives, with remainders to John son and heir of the said William and the heirs of his body, to Robert, brother of the said John and the heirs of his body, and to the right heirs of the said Robert (sic) for ever.

Sandon. The manor held of the heirs of Aymer de Valence, earl of Pembroke, as of the castle of Anesty by service of a knight’s fee; and certain tenements held of the heirs of Robert de Skales by service of a knight’s fee.
All held jointly with Eleanor his wife, to them and the heirs of the said William.

Esthanyngfeld. A manor and certain lands &c. in Wodeham Ferres, Sandon, and Danewebery, held jointly by the said William and Eleanor, to themselves and the heirs of the said William, of the demise of Thomas, son and heir of William de Hanyngfeld, rendering 8l. yearly for the same.
The said manor and tenements are held of the heir of Robert Fitz Wautier, a minor and in the king’s wardship, by service of a knight’s fee and a half.

Shecheythe. A capital messuage and lands held of Agnes late the wife of Thomas Bardolf by reason of dower assigned to her from the fees of the said Thomas, by service of a sixtieth part of a knight’s fee, and by service of 5d. to be paid yearly at the manor of Wyrmegeye, and rendering 3s. yearly to the prioress of Blakeberwe; and 54 1/2a. land held of the aforesaid prioress, Robert de Rungeton, Walter de Stouwe, William de Rey[nh?]am, the prior of Wyrmegeye, Thomas de Speleysworth, and Alan le Rous, by divers services at present unknown.
Banham. A capital messuage, lands, wood, rents, &c. held of Mary countess of Pembroke, as of her manor of Hocham by service of an eighth part of a knight’s fee.

Astone. A messuage, lands, wood, and rent (extent given), held by the said Simon, by fee tail and by fine levied in the king’s court, viz.—to him and the heirs of his body, with remainder in default of such heirs, to Thomas de Aston and the heirs of his body, of the heir of John Giffard of Westone, a minor and in the king’s wardship, by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee. The said Simon died without heir of his body, so that the said tenements ought to remain to Thomas son of the said Thomas de Aston, by the aforesaid tail.
Thomas son of Thomas de Aston, aged 20 years at the feast of St. Katherine last, is next heir by tail.

A manor called Kyngeshall (extent given), held, jointly with Walter his son, and the heirs of the body of the said Walter, of the king by service of taking care of one of the king’s hounds, receiving 18d. weekly from the king for the said care; and a messuage, 6a. land and a windmill sometime held of William de Calthorpe, knight, and other divers lords, by divers services unknown at present. The said William gave the said messuage, land, and mill, in 19 Edward II, to Walter and Thomas, his sons, and their heirs for ever.
Walsingham and Hindingham. A capital messuage, lands, and a sixth part of a watermill, sometime held of Elizabeth de Burgh as of her manor of Walsingham by divers services unknown at present. The said William gave the said tenements to the aforesaid Walter and Thomas in form aforesaid.
