	Asseleye. A third part (full extent given with names of tenants) held of the king in chief by service of 1/3 knight’s fee, rendering nevertheless 1/2 mark yearly to Fulk son of Warin. He held no other lands in the bailiwick. Thomas his son, aged 6 at Christmas last, is his next heir. Endorsed: The king for a fine of 10 marks granted to William de Praers the marriage of the said Thomas, without disparagement.

Maud de Barry, late the wife of Maurice son of John, held certain lands at Trayly and New manor, co. Kerry, by the king’s assignment, the same Thomas being in the king’s wardship. Thomas his eldest son, aged 10 at Easter, 28 Edw. I. is his next heir; and this the jury know because Hugh de Lees, knight, one of the jurors, has a son named Nicholas of the same age, and [Maurice de R]upe Forti has a son named Maurice of the same age. Two parts of the tenements aforesaid, except the manor of Senede, were granted by the king to John son of Thomas, rendering (yearly?) at the castle of Dublin the true value of the same; among which the aforesaid manor of ……. rendering 100l. yearly; and the manor of Senede was committed to the said Maud [rendering?] 40l. yearly.

	Lidel. The manor, with its members Randulflevigton, Arturet, Stubhill and Eston, with the forest called Nicolforest, held of the king in chief, rendering 56s. yearly to the king for cornage at the exchequer of the castle of Carlisle, and doing suit at the county (court) of Carlisle, every month, viz.— Lidel. A manor called the castle (extent given with names of tenants), including a park now worth nothing on account of the war, and a fishery; divers messuages &c. are wasted and burned by the Scots. Nicolforest. Where were many tenants before the war, but now few. Stubhill. Where were many manses and tenants who have been slain by the Scots and the town burnt. Eston. The township used to render 10s. yearly, but now nothing because it is burned and no one inhabits it. Arturet. The township used to render before the war 23l. 15s. 4d., and now 13l. 13s. 10d. Randulflevigton. The township used to render before the war 8l. 9d., and now 60s. 4 1/2d. Carlisle. 40s. rent in the city from divers tenants (named). 	Solpert. The manor held by Sir Robert Tilliol by cornage and doing suit at the said John’s court at Stubhill every three weeks. Torpenowe. The manor held by Sir William de Mulcastre by cornage, except a sixth part thereof which Sir Richard Brune holds by cornage. Brunstayth. The manor held by the same Sir Richard by cornage and by suit of court as aforesaid. Eston. 40a. land held by John de Eston by cornage, and suit of court as aforesaid; a carucate of land held by Richard de Mulcastre of John de Eston, and by him of John Wake, by cornage and 20d. yearly; and 6 bovates of land held by John de Hardegill by cornage and suit of court as aforesaid. Northeston. The manor held by Sir Adam del Crokedayke by cornage, rendering 1d. yearly to Sir John Wake, but now worth nothing because wasted by the Scots’ war. Graynehou. A moiety of the hundred, with the rent and wood pertaining thereto, held of the king in chief by service of finding an esquire with a barded horse in the king’s army for forty days at his own charges, for the said lands &c. and for Samford Peverel and Alre, co. Devon. Great Chylewerth. 6l. 8s. 2d. yearly rent pertaining to the said hundred, to be received by the hands of Maud Peverel. Domerham. A capital messuage, 57a. arable, la. meadow, 4a. pasture, a moiety of a mill, rents &c. (extent given), held of Reginald de Sancto Martino in chief by service of 1/4 knight’s fee. His sisters, Margery aged 25, Joan aged 24, and Denise aged 22, are his next heirs.
CAMBRIDGE.	Inq. taken at Lynton on Tuesday the eve of St. Margaret, 28 Edw. I.
	Stretle. The manor (full extent given with names of tenants) held of the bishop of Ely in chief by service of 4s. yearly. Heirs as above.
DEVON.	Inq. Sunday after the Translation of St. Thomas the Martyr, 28 Edw. I.
	Taleton. The manor (full extent given with names of tenants), including 6d. rent for a way at Laghebrouk, held of the bishop of Exeter by service of three parts of a knight’s fee, doing suit at the court of the bishop’s manor of Cryditon. Yernescobe. A moiety of the manor (extent given with names of tenants) held of John de Umfrevyle by service of a knight’s fee, rendering 12d. yearly for the guard of Tremetone (?). Heirs as above, aged respectively 24, 23, and 20 at the feast of St. Michael last.
DEVON.	Inq. Thursday the feast of the Translation of St. Thomas the Martyr, 28 Edw. I (defective and much faded).
	Saundford [Peverel?]. The manor with the hamlet of Alre Peverel (full extents given with names of tenants) held of the king in chief in serjeanty for finding the king in his army whenever there shall be war a man and a barded horse at his own costs for forty days. Heirs as last above. Petition from John de la Rivere to the king, whereas he has made suit before the treasurer &c. of the exchequer for Margery, Joan and Denise, sisters and heirs of Thomas Peverel, who held of the king in chief in Wilts and Devon, and it was found by inquisition that the said heirs were 21 years of age on the day of their brother’s death, and their homages have been made and they are waiting to be quit of their marriages without making fine, according to the great charter, which the king has granted should be adhered to in all points; and because the treasurer &c. would not end the matter at York they adjourned him to this parliament to hear the king’s will according to the law of the land, and this he prays. (French, undated.) Endorsed: Let the inquisition be sought in the chancery and had before the whole council on Monday.

Upper Gorthor. 24s. 8 1/2d. similiar rents, and pleas &c. of court. Steyfrestones. The forest containing 10a. ALL the above manors, lands &c. in Salop held of the king in chief by barony, by service of 5 knights’ fees. He held no other lands on this side Trent. Peter his son, aged 30 and more (is his next heir).

	Yokelthull. Peter son of Thomas Corbet, who held the manor of Yokelthull (extent given), including a wood called ‘le Park,’ which is a member of Caus, of the king in chief by barony, gave the manor, at the feast of the Invention of the Holy Cross, 26 Edw. I, to Peter his son and heir and Beatrice his wife and the heirs of their bodies, to hold without doing any service, without the king’s licence, and immediately after forty days retook (?) the manor into his hand by the will of the said Peter his son, and so died seised. Binneweston. The aforesaid Peter son of Thomas, who held the manor (extent given), which is a member of Caus, in the same manner of the king, had a firstborn son named Thomas, who by his father’s will espoused Joan daughter of Alan Plukenet and died without heir of himself; after whose death at the feast of St. Martin, 23 Edw. I, the said Peter, without the king’s licence, gave the manor to the said Joan as dower, to hold of the said Peter for her life without doing any service, with reversion to the said Peter and his heirs.

	Aldyngton. The manor (full extent given with names of many tenants in gavelkind) held of the king in chief by service of a knight’s fee, rendering 12s. yearly (for the) guard of the castle of Rochester. Heir as above.

	Cobeham. The manor (full extent given with names of many tenants in gavelkind), including 30a. wood in Toxenode, held of the heirs of William Mauregard, an alien of the power of the king of France, by service of 1/4 knight’s fee, rendering a sparrowhawk or 2s. yearly, but of whom and by what service the said heirs held is unknown to the jury. Henry his son, aged 40 and more, is his next heir.
KENT.	Inq. 15 April, 28 Edw. I.
	Coulyngge. The manor (extent given with the names of many tenants in gavelkind), and the following free tenants by knight’s service, viz.—Nicholas de Ore holding 1/20 knight’s fee, doing suit at the court of Coulyngge and contributing to scutage for the proportion of fee, and Ralph Parlebyen holding 7a. land for 1/100 knight’s fee, rendering 2lb. pepper worth 2s. and doing other services as the said Nicholas; held of the heirs of the countess of Aumale by service of 1 knight’s fee, rendering to the prior &c. of Rochester 23s. yearly alms at Mid-Lent, and doing suit at the court of the said heirs at Walebrok every three weeks. 	Great Dodington. A manor (extent given) held of John de Hasting’ in chief, as of the honour of Hunt(ingdon), by service of 1/4 knight’s fee; which manor he delivered to Hugh de Vyhenna and Pynus Bernardyn for their lives, and after the death of the said Hugh the said John Tregoz quit-claimed the manor to the said Pynus and his heirs for ever, the said heirs after the death of the said Pynus rendering 20l. yearly to the heirs of the said John. John la Warre his grandson (nepos) and Sibyl the wife of William de Grauntcoun [alias de Grandissono], his daughter, both aged 21 and more, are his next heirs.

	Euwyas Harald. 1 knight’s fee was held by John Tregoz the poor man (pauper), and it was in the hand of John Tregoz on the day he died; 1/2 knight’s fee held by Henry de Elston; and 1/2 knight’s fee held by Richard de Euwyas. Mulstoneston. 1/2 knight’s fee was held by Reginald de Mulstonton of the said John, and it was in his hand as escheat when he died, on account of the said Reginald’s felony. Puston in Straddel. 1/2 knight’s fee held by Roger Ragun. Pencumbe and Caldewell. 1 1/2 [corrected to 2 1/2] knights’ fee held by Eustace de Wytheneye. Monynton in Straddel and Euwyas. 1 knight’s fee held by Robert de Bodenham. Monynton in Straddel. Three parts of 1 knight’s fee held by Henry de Penebrugg. Fookesyate. 1/4 knight’s fee held by Elizabeth, late the wife of Richard Fouk, pertaining to the aforesaid three parts of Monyton. Euwyas Harald. Whenever the priory shall be vacant the lord shall have a man in the said priory, and the abbot of Gloucester another, and when the abbot shall have made a new prior he shall be presented to the lords of the place, and shall find a monk or chaplain to celebrate divine service daily in the chapel of the castle of Euwyas Harald. Dore. The lords of Euwyas are founders of the abbey, but get no service thence.
SURREY.	Inq. 30 May, 29 Edw. I.
	Sende by Ripele. A third part of 2 knights’ fees held by John de Dendeswelle; a third part of 2 knights’ fees held by Simon Pipard; and a third part of the said 2 knights’ fees held of Geoffrey Maubank, but the said John Tregoz alienated the service of the said third part to John le Blunt, in what manner is unknown to the jury. No advowson of a church pertained to him in the county.
