The bishop of Cambray. Whereas Lewis of Bavaria, who, although condemned for heresy and deprived of, any right acquired by his contested election, presumed to call himself emperor of the Romans, and issued letters depriving the bishop of Cambray of all his possessions held under the empire, and cited him to appear before king Edward as vicar of the same; and whereas Stephen Maulion, subject of the said bishop, and bearer of the letters of citation, was deprived by Clement VI. of all his benefices, and was rendered unable to obtain any others, under date of Avignon, 8 Id. Mar. Anno 6; and whereas the said Stephen, in spite of the above sentence, and with no other title, unless it be that he is a good falconer, holds the deanery of Cambray, and other benefices; the bishop prays the pope to cause the sentence of Clement VI. to be observed.
