Stoting. The manor, held as of the inheritance aforesaid, of the archbishop of Canterbury by service of a knight’s fee and suit of court at Canterbury every three weeks.
Syfletton. The manor, held as of the inheritance aforesaid, of Sir Stephen de Cobeham, the elder, by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee, rendering 8s. 4d. yearly and suit at his court of Alynton.
Easture. A moiety of the manor, held as of the inheritance aforesaid, of Juliana de Leyburn by service of 5s.

SURREY. Inq. Sunday after the Translation of St. Thomas the Martyr, 1 Edward III.
La Stapele in Shyre. Certain tenements sometime in the seisin of John le Mareschal of Guldeford as his right; who demised them to Roger de Berners for a term of ten years only, who afterwards demised them to the said bishop for his life, who had no other estate therein on the day he died; the said term is fully expired and no release of the tenements was made by John le Mareschal either to the said Roger, or to the bishop; the tenements are held of James le Botiller by service of rendering 7d. yearly at his manor of Shyre and doing suit at the court of the manor every three weeks.
Richard de Stapleton, his brother, aged 40 and more, is his next heir.

The manor, held of the late King Edward as of the honour of Pontefract, now in the king’s hand by reason of the forfeiture of Thomas, late earl of Lancaster, by service of a moiety of a knight’s fee; which manor the present king granted to Maud, late the wife of the said Robert, to hold until the full age of the heir, who still holds it.
Scarthecroft. The manor held of John de Rithre, as of the manor of Heselwode by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee; which manor was committed to the said Maud by a like grant of the king.

Estwynterslewe. The manor (extent given), held by the courtesy of England of the inheritance of Maud, his wife deceased, of the king in chief by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee, and by making a drink of claret (claretti) for the king at the king’s expense when he shall come to Clarindone, and doing suit at the hundred of Ambresbury every three weeks for all service: ‘churichshut,’ viz.—a cock and three hens each, is rendered yearly by 15 villeins.

9. ELEANOR, LATE THE WIFE OF ROBERT DE KAYNES or DE CAYNES.
Writ of plenius certiorari, on the petition of the said Eleanor for her dower out of the manors of Somerford Kaynes, Chelworth and Colcote, and 10 marks rent in Piriton and Chelworth, of which her late husband after their marriage enfeoffed Hugh le Despenser, late earl of Winchester, by whose forfeiture the same are now in the king’s hand, 18 March, 1 Edward III.

Barton in Ridale. The manor (full extent given), held jointly with Agnes his wife, who survives, to them and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of the said Nicholas, of the king in chief by service of a knight’s fee and of rendering 10s. yearly for fines of the wapentake of Ridale.

La Morslade by Sandhurst. A messuage, land and meadow, similarly held by service of 28s. 4d. yearly to be paid by the hands of the said keeper, and by doing suit as above. He held no other lands &c. in the county.

Dokelynton. The manor (extent given), including a pasture called ‘Oxelese,’ a fishery, and the advowson of the church, held of Hugh de Pleycy by service of a knight’s fee.
He died on Friday before the feast of St. Peter ad Vincula.

HEREFORD. Inq. Thursday after Holy Trinity, 1 Edward III.
Wystanstone. Half a virgate of land and a plot of meadow, held for life by the demise of Richard Danyel, deceased, of the king in chief by service of 9d. yearly.
Hunfrayeston. 35s. yearly rent, held of the king in chief for the said term by rendering to the king at the hundred of Wormeslowe 5s. for all service.
Sutton in Mawardyn. 60a. land and 2 plots of meadow, held for life by the demise of the said Richard, of Sir Roger de Mortuo Mari of Wyggemor by service of 10s. 8d.
Amberleye. A messuage and a carucate of land, similarly held of Maud, sometime the wife of Hugh de Preston, by service of 10s. yearly.
Bisshopeston. A messuage, land and rents &c. similarly held of the bishop of Hereford by knight’s service.
Dewyeschirch in Irchenefeld. A carucate of land similarly held of Walter Marmyon by service of a rose.
Elizabeth, aged 30, the wife of Ralph de Marchynton, Katherine, aged 27, the wife of Reginald de Marchinton, and Joan, aged 24, the wife of John de Lutrincton, daughters of the said Richard Danyel, are next heirs of the said John.
