A messuage and 1 virgate land, was held by the said Henry of the king in chief by service of keeping the forest of Wythlingele and the park of Fremantel, and after his death the escheator took the same into the king’s hand; which messuage, land and bailiwick of the forest, were held by Alice late the wife of the said Henry, by fine made with the king during the minority of his heirs, until Sir Hugh le Despenser, justice of the king’s forest on this side the Trent, two years before the age of the heirs was proved, took the said bailiwick, and delivered it of his own will to John de Shaldeforde, who now holds it.
Alice and Pavya his daughters, who were proved of full age in 33 Edw. I, are his next heirs.
