He died on the feast of the Purification, 5 Edw. [II].

Writ of certiorari super causa captionis, concerning lands which were of Elizabeth daughter of the said Thomas in High Peak, 20 July, 9 Edw. II.
DERBY. Inq. The morrow of Palm Sunday, 9 Edw. II.
Fernilegh. A bovate of land was procured by Elizabeth daughter of Thomas le Ragged to herself and her heirs; and afterwards she entered religion, and the said Thomas entered upon the said land as guardian of Joan, Emma and Agnes his daughters, heirs of the said Elizabeth, and so died seised thereof; the land has been detained in the king’s hand until now.

I, and immediately after his death all the aforesaid lands came into the hand of the said king through his escheator, and so from escheator to escheator until the king that now is gave the castle of The Peak with the honour to Sir John de Warrenna, earl of Surrey, in whose time Thomas the son being of full age had seisin of the said lands through the said earl.
Thomas le Raggadd that now is, aged 23 and more, is his next heir.

Le Fernyleygh. A messuage and 1 bovate land, was held by the said Elizabeth of the late King Edward, on the day that she took the garb of religion, by service of 12d. yearly to be rendered to the castle of the High Peak. The said tenements were in the hand of the said Thomas until his death, and afterwards in the hand of (the king?) and are now in the hand of Thomas, son and heir of the said Thomas le Raggede.
Joan, Emma and Agnes her sisters, all over 30, are her heirs.

Fresselay. Tenements held for life, of the said Geoffrey, who held of John de Calverlay by homage, fealty, suit at the court of Calverlay, knights’ service pertaining to 2 1/2 carucates of land, and other services unknown.

LOUTH (sic). Inq. Sunday after St. Valentine, 9 Edw. II.
Pippardeston. A messuage with 14 cottages all burnt by the Irish, 180a. arable, each acre being worth 4d. yearly and no more because they are in the Marches, and 60a. moor, which cannot be extended because the whole country is destroyed by the Scots.
Adwalath. 1 1/2a. land and 1/2a. meadow held of Sir William de Clynton by fealty for all service; and 4 1/2a. land held of the prior of Athyrde, by fealty for all service.
Pippardeston. A messuage and 1 carucate land, held of the said Benedict by Master Henry Serl, by service of 16s. 8d. yearly, and by royal service of 16d. when scutage runs at 40s.
Athirde. A moiety of a messuage held of the said Benedict by Laurence Tirel rendering yearly a pair of gloves price 1d.
All held of the king in chief by fealty and by scutage of 16d. for each carucate when it runs in Ireland at 40s., and by suit at the king’s court of Athyrde.
John his son, aged 25, is his next heir.

LINCOLN. Inq. Saturday after the Ascension, 9 Edw. II.
Buterwik. A toft and 10a. land and meadow, now in the king’s hand by reason of her idiocy, are held of Alan de Poynton by service of 4s. 4d. yearly.
Her kinsman, Gilbert son of Laurence de Buterwik, aged 24 and more, is her next heir of these lands.
Swynesheved. Two tofts and a wind-mill, now similarly in the king’s hand, are held of the abbot of Swynesheved by service of 3s. yearly; which ought to revert to Richard Rousyng of Swynesheved, because his grandfather Richard Rousyng gave them to John son of Gilbert de Pyncebek in free marriage with his daughter Juliana to hold to them and the heirs of the said Juliana, whose daughter the said Juetta died without heir of herself.
The said Richard is kinsman and heir of Richard the donor, and aged 30 and more.
