DORSET.	Inq. (indented) taken virtute officii at Shaftesbury, Wednesday before St Peter’s Chains, 21 Richard II.
	He held the under-mentioned third part for life by the law of England, of the inheritance of William Brekore, his son. Multon upon Stoure. A third part of the manor. He died on Tuesday after the close of Easter last. William, aged 26 years and more, is his son and heir, but the said third part belongs to the king for the said William’s life because he is a fool and an idiot.

	He held the under-mentioned manors in his demesne as of fee. Donhefd. The manor, held of the abbot of Glastonbury by knight’s service and a yearly rent of 52 bars of iron, 4 lb. wax and 12d. Batheneston and Shokerwyk. The manors, held of the bishop of Bath by knight’s service. He died on 22 September, 19 Richard II. Philippa wife of John Deveros and Elizabeth wife of Robert Lovell, daughters of Guy Bryen the younger, knight, are his heirs. They are minors and in the king’s wardship because of other lands in the county held of the king in chief by knight’s service.

	He held the manors of Donhed, Batheneston and Shokerwyk as above. Date of death as above. Philippa, aged 19 years and more, wife of Henry Lescrop, knight, and Elizabeth, aged 16 years and more, wife of Robert Lovell, are his heirs, to wit, daughters of Guy de Bryen, knight, the younger, brother of the said William. The said manors have been in the king’s hands since the said William’s death by reason of an inquisition taken by Thomas Cammell, late escheator, virtute officii and returned into the Exchequer.

991	MAUD WIFE OF THOMAS DE BOUKELOND, knight
SOMERSET.	Inq. (indented) taken at Crukern, Saturday before the Annunciation, 21 Richard II.
	She held the under-mentioned manors of Lopene and Great Stratton for life by feoffment of Robert Sambourne, clerk, made with the king’s licence to John de Meriet the elder, knight, and the said Maud then his wife. She held the under-mentioned third part in dower by endowment of the said John. John de Meriet the younger, son of John the elder, to whom the reversion of the said manors and third part belonged, by a fine levied in the king’s court granted them with the other two-thirds of the manor of Meriet and other lands to Edmund Darundel, Henry Molyne, John Bevyn and others and the heirs of Henry. Henry afterwards released his right to the other feoffees, all of whom died except John Bevyn, who by a fine levied in the king’s court with the king’s licence granted one moiety to William Bonevill, knight, and Margaret his wife for life with successive remainders to Thomas Bonevill, Hugh Bonevill, William Bonevill brother of Hugh, and the heirs male of their bodies and the right heirs of Margaret, and the other moiety to Humphrey Stafford, knight, and Elizabeth, his wife and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of Elizabeth. Lopene and Great Stratton. The manors, held of the king in chief by knight’s service. Meriet. A third part of the manor, held of the king in chief. She died on Monday before St Gregory last. 	She held the under-mentioned manors for life by gift of William now bishop of Winchester, John de Pekebrugg, knight, John Colepeper and Richard Mase, made with the king’s licence to Nicholas Loveyn, knight, and the said Margaret, then his wife, to them and the heirs of the body of Nicholas, with remainder to the said bishop etc. Barton Seynt John and Staunton Seynt John. 	The under-mentioned town and mill came to the king’s hands by the death of the said Roger and the minority of the said John. Bradford. The town and a water-mill, held of the king in chief by knight’s service and 13s. 4d. to the ward of the castle of Bamburgh. It is worth 6 marks and no more on account of the destruction done by the Scots. He died on Palm Sunday last, John de Wetewode, son of Robert, son of Agnes, sister of Calome de Bradford, father of the said Roger, aged 24 years and more, is his heir.

NORFOLK.	Inq. taken at Harleston Market, Wednesday after St Luke, 21 Richard II.
	He held the under-mentioned manors of Burstone and Metton and by his charter dated at Badyngham on Thursday after the Decollation of St John the Baptist, 4 Richard II, gave them to Robert Howard, William Elmham, William Wynggefeld, knight, master John Derbyngton, parson of the church of Hyngham, Robert Peyton, Robert Hotot, Stephen Edward, clerk, and Nicholas Stokes, clerk, on condition that they should enfeoff him and Margery his wife thereof for a term of 18 years from Michaelmas then next with remainder to John his son and heir and the heirs of his body and so successively from heir to heir of the body of the said Robert, with reversion to the said feoffees. All the alienations were made without the king’s licence. The said Robert and Thomas de Skelton purchased the under-mentioned manor of Wytton of the abbess and convent of Broseyerd to hold to the use of the said Robert and his heirs. The said Robert and John Wysbecke purchased of John Spoo and Nicola his wife the manor of Bauseye with the reversion of the manor of Pensthorpe to hold to the use of the said Robert and his heirs. He held the under-mentioned manor of Braydeston with the advowsons annexed as of the right of Margery his wife, then living. He held the under-mentioned messuage, land and rent in Bresyngham in his demesne as of fee. Burstone. The manor, held of the king in chief as of his castle of Norwich by the service of selling the draught animals (averia) taken for the king’s debts in the country. Metton. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held of the king as of the honor of Eye by knight’s service. Wytton. The manor, held of the heirs of John Caston as of the manor of Braydeston by knight’s service. Bauseye. The manor, with the reversion of the manor of Pensthorpe. The manor of Bauseye is held of the king as of the honor of Eye by service of 10s. ‘castelfee’. Braydeston. The manor, with the advowsons of the churches of Braydeston with the chapel of Brundale, Strumpyshawe, Southbirlyngham and Northbirlyngham St Andrew, held of the bishop of Norwich by knight’s service. 	He held in his demesne as of fee the under-mentioned manor of Dalengho and rent in Cratefeld. He held the under-mentioned manors of Badyngham, Cretyngge, Wilbeye, Stodhagh and Laxfeld and gave them to Robert Howard etc. (as above, Norfolk inquisition, manors of Burstone and Metton). The said Robert Carbonell and Robert Hotot purchased of Edmund Rolee the under-mentioned manor of Walpoll and messuage and lands in Walpoll, etc. to the use of the said Robert Carbonell and his heirs. The said Robert and Robert Peytone purchased of John Russell of Framlyngham the under-mentioned messuage and lands in Cranesford, Badyngham and Broseyerd to hold to the use of the said Robert Carbonell and his heirs. Dalengho. The manor (extent given), with a third part of the advowson of the church, held of the king as of the honor of Eye by service of 4s. 7d. every 27 weeks to the ward of the castle of Eye. Badyngham. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held of the king as of the honor of Eye by knight’s service. Wilbye. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held of the duchess of Norfolk as of her castle of Framlyngham by service of two knights’ fees. Cretynge. 	Writ, to enquire concerning the rent of 20 marks said to be payable to William Fastolf out of the manor of Braydeston. 3 May, 21 Richard II.
NORFOLK.	Inq. taken at Norwich, Monday before Ascension Day, 21 Richard II.
	On Monday before the Assumption, 11 Richard II, a lawful partition was made at Badyngham between Robert Carbonell and Margery his wife and William Fastolf and Mary his wife of all the lands that were Robert Caston’s, whose daughters and heirs the said Margery and Mary were. Margery had the manor of Braideston with the advowsons of Braideston, Wyttone, Strumpeshagh, Northbirlingham, Southbirlingham and the chapel of Brundale and other lands in Billocby, Stunstale, Taverham, Secheford and Brisele and half a knight’s fee in Westtoftes with all other lands in the hundreds of Blofeld and Walsham; Mary had the reversions of the manors of Castone and Westoftes with the advowsons of the churches of the manors and the reversion of the manor called ‘Castonehalle’ in Shepedam after the death of Katharine, wife of John Castone, knight. And because Margery’s purparty was of greater value than Mary’s, Robert Carbonell and Margery his wife granted to the said Mary and the heirs of her body a yearly rent of 20 marks out of the manor of Braideston. Margery survived Robert. William had issue by Mary. Mary is dead. Margery after Robert’s death paid the rent to William as tenant by the law of England.

NORFOLK.	Inq. taken at Harliston, Wednesday in Whitsun week, 21 Richard II.
	The said Robert held as of the right of Margery his wife, then living, the under-mentioned manor and advowsons. Braydeston. The manor, with the advowsons of the churches of Braydeston with the chapel of Brundale, Strumpishagh, Southbirlyngham and Northbyrlyngham St Andrew, held of the bishop of Norwich by knight’s service. The manor is charged with a rent of 20 marks yearly to William Fastolf for life. Robert died on 14 September last and Margery on 22 September last. John, aged 14 years on the feast of St George last, is son and heir of Robert and Margery.

Rose, aged 18 years and more on the day of Joan’s death, is her special heir according to the form of the gift. She afterwards married Thomas Flemyng. After the said William’s death William de la Boterye married the said Joan and they had issue Walter, age unknown, who is the said Joan’s heir general, but no lands descend to him after her death. The said William de la Boterye has occupied the manor since Joan’s death, title unknown.

	John Filioll by his charter with the king’s licence gave to Roger de Wolferston, John Rokell, Richard de Sutton, Edmund de Lakyngheth, Roger son of Roger de Wolferston, William Wyght and John Fordham, chaplain, the undermentioned manor and after the death of the said John Filioll the said feoffees by their charter gave a moiety of the manor to the said Anne and the heirs of her body with successive remainders to Joan, sister of Anne, and the heirs of her body and to the said feoffees. The moiety was seized into the king’s hands because of the minority of the said Anne. The tenant of the messuage is bound to ride on the day called ‘bedrepeday’ in autumn with a sparrowhawk among the reapers in the lordship of Istilworth. He died on 20 July, 21 Richard II.
