	He held the under-mentioned toft etc. in Bereford, bailiwick of Grovele forest, manor of Bereford St Martin and tenement in Wilton in his demesne as of fee, and gave them by indenture to Bernard Brocas, knight, and Katharine his wife, and the heirs male of their bodies, with the king’s licence, for a rent of 40 marks yearly to himself and his heirs. Thomas, father of the said John, by his charter dated 23 October, 10 Richard II, charged the said manor with an annual rent of …l. to the said John and Joan his wife and the heirs of the said John. Bereford St Martin. A toft with the common oven, two small gardens and a moiety of a virgate of land, held of the king in chief. Grovele. A bailiwick in the forest called le Suthbayly, held of the king by service of 9s. yearly in the Exchequer by the hands of the sheriff. Bereford St Martin. The manor. Wilton. A tenement, late of Robert de Brudecombe. The above manor and tenement are held of the lord Ives Fitzwarren and the lord of Wilton and the prioress of Amesbury by service unknown. Honybrigge. A parcel of land called Cokkesclos and 1a. meadow called Cokkesmede, held of the lord of Honybrigge by service of …d. yearly. Coterygge. A messuage and lands, held of the abbess of Romesey in socage. He died on Sunday before Michaelmas last past. John, aged 7 years and more, is his son and heir.

	He held the under-mentioned manor, advowson and lands in his demesne as of fee. Styvynton. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held of the king in chief by service of half a knight’s fee and suit to the hundred of Bas[ing] every three weeks. The manor is charged with a rent of 100s. yearly to Thomas Byflet, his heirs and assigns. Pambere forest. 80a. land called … wodde held of the king in chief by service of 25s. 5d. to the assart (sartam) of Winchester. He died on Monday, the eve of St Matthew, 19 Richard II. 	Commission to John Bernard, treasurer of Calais, and Roger Waltham, escheator there, that whereas on 25 February, 3 Richard II, the king granted to Bernard Brocas, now deceased, a tenement with cottages in the parish of St Nicholas, Calais, bounded on the north by the street from Milkeport to le Wachehous, on the west by Bouselawestrete, on the east by Symond Mayheustrete and on the south by le path from Bouselawestrete to the churchyard of St Nicholas, to hold to the said Bernard and his heirs by the same services as John Brocas, knight, his father, held them of Edward III, doing watch and ward as is done for other tenements in Calais, and whereas Bernard son of the said Bernard Brocas says that his father never had livery of the said cottages, to enquire when Bernard Brocas died, who is his heir, why the cottages remained in the king’s hand after the said 25 February, who has occupied them since and whether the said Bernard or any other tenant has forfeited them since the said 25 February. 22 October, 22 Richard II.

WILTS.	Inq. (indented) taken at Cherlton by Hungerforde, 2 November, 19 Richard II.
	She held the under-mentioned manor jointly with John Scot, lately her husband, who is still living, by gift of John Syward, clerk, and John Hogenorton, vicar of the church of Hungerford, by a fine levied in the king’s court a month after Easter, 9 Richard II, without the king’s licence, to them and the heirs of their bodies with successive remainders to John Shawe and Alice his wife and the heirs of their bodies and the right heirs of the said John Shawe. She held the under-mentioned messuage and land for life, the reversion belonging to the heirs of William Braybrok. Estbedewynde. The manor, held of the king in chief, services unknown. Estbedewynde. A messuage and a carucate of land, held of the earl of Stafford by service of 42s. yearly. She died on 14 September, 15 Richard II. Margery wife of Thomas Hanesworthe, aged 30 years and more, and Alice late the wife of John Shawe, aged 22 years, daughters of the said Elizabeth, and Joan wife of John Stapelhull, daughter of Olive another daughter of the said Elizabeth, aged 16 years, are her heirs. John Scot took the issues of the manor aforesaid from the day of Elizabeth’s death until Michaelmas, 16 Richard II, when he granted the manor to John Short for life of the said John Scot at a rent of 5 marks yearly, without the king’s licence. John Short then took the issues until Michaelmas, 17 Richard II, when he died; since then Thomas Hanesworth and Margery his wife, Alice late the wife of John Shawe, and John Stapelhull and Joan his wife have taken them.

He held the other under-mentioned manors, advowsons and land in parcenary with Alice, Katharine and Elizabeth, daughters of John Wykyng, and John son of Henry Mountfort. Alestperet. The last two items are held of Matthew de Gournay, knight, by service of 12d. yearly. Cherlton Adam. 40s. from a carucate of land, which John Martyn of Cherlton and John Touker the younger hold for life by demise of the said William, John Mountfort and Katharine, mother of Alice, Katharine and Elizabeth, with the reversion of the said carucate, held of the prior of Bruton by service of 1 Is. yearly. He died on 5 November last. Joan wife of Robert de Affeton, aged 19 1/2 years and more, is his daughter and heir.

	He held the under-mentioned manor of Bydlyngton and rents in Horsham and Nutherst in his demesne as of fee. He was formerly seised in his demesne as of fee of the manors of Chersworthe and Seghwyke and gave them by his charter to Richard de Brewes, Henry Frenshe and John Cretelyngton on condition that after his death they should enfeoff thereof Margaret his wife for life with remainder to his right heirs, but divers tenants did not attorn to the said Richard, Henry and John, so that the said Thomas died seised of the said rents. 	Nicholas Ryvell, John de Conyngesby, clerk, William de Halugton and Humphrey de Halugton, by their charter dated at Kynnesbury on Thursday after St Matthias, 1 Richard II, gave the under-mentioned manors, which they had of the gift of the said Ralph, to the said Ralph and Joan his wife and the heirs of Ralph. The said Joan is still living. He also held the under-mentioned messuage and land. Kynnesbury and Plumton. The manors, held of the king of the manor of Cheylesmour by knight’s service, quantity unknown. Stoke by Coventre. A messuage and a carucate of land, held of the king in socage as of the manor of Cheilesmour by service of 20s. yearly and suit to the court of the said manor every three weeks. He died on Wednesday after St Lawrence last. John Bracebrigge, aged 19 years on the feast of the Purification last, son of the said Ralph and Joan, is his heir.
