98.	THOMAS DE FERARIIS.
	Writ, 28 July, 27 Edward III.
BUCKINGHAM.	Inq. taken at Stonystratford, Saturday the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, 27 Edward III.
	Calverton. The manor, held for a term of ten years by the demise of John de Veer, earl of Oxford, at a yearly rent of 40l. He held no other lands &c. in the bailiwick, so far as the jury can ascertain. He died on Tuesday before St. Peter’s Chains. William de Ferariis, knight, his kinsman, of full age, is his heir in blood.

NORTHAMPTON.	Inq. taken at Yerdele Hastynges, Wednesday after the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, 27 Edward III.
	Le Morhende and Plumpton Pyrie. He held no lands &c. in the county on the day he died because long before his death, on 18 November, 25 Edward III, he gave his manors of le Morhende (extent given) and Plumpton Pyrie and all his lands &c. in the county to John de Newenham, parson of the church of Cheddele, who held the said manors until the feast of St. James, 27 Edward III, when he gave them to Ankaretta la Straunge, sometime wife of the said Thomas de Ferariis, for her life, with successive remainders to Henry del Isle and the heirs male of his body, Thomas le Spencer and the heirs male of his body, and the right heirs of the said Thomas. The manor of le Morhende, with two carucates of land belonging (adjacent’) to it, is held in chief of Thomas de Bello Campo, earl of Warwick, and Henry Gobyoun by knight’s service, and renders to the said earl and his heirs 33s. 4d. yearly and 1lb. pepper payable three times a year, and owes suit of court at his manor of Pyrie every three weeks; and to Henry Gobioun 12d. yearly and suit at his manor of Yerdele Gobioun every three weeks. The manor of Plumpton Pyrie is held in chief of the heirs of Robert Pavely by knight’s service. The extent of the manor of le Morhende includes two carucates each containing 190a. of arable land, and two carucates of assart land within the metes of the forest, containing 180a., by the acre used for woodland, each acre of which renders 4d. to Philippa, queen of England, and is worth nothing beyond; also 40s. rent of free tenants in Aldryngton, Shytylhangre, Fortho and le Morhende. Robert le Clerk holds the manor of Plumpton Pyrie to farm for his life of the demise of the said John de Newenham, paying to the manor of le Morhende 100s. yearly. A water-mill there renders to the earl of Warwick 30s. yearly and is worth nothing beyond. He died on Tuesday the feast of St. Mary Magdalen last. Heir as above, aged 21 years and more.
	Writ to Gerard de Braybrok, sheriff of Bedford and Buckingham, 1 August, 27 Edward III.
	The said Thomas having been bound to the king in divers debts and accounts from the time he was keeper of the islands of Jereseye, Gernereye, Serk and Aureneye, and from divers other causes, the sheriff is to take into the king’s hand all his lands, tenements, goods and chattels, and to inquire of whom the lands are held and the value of the goods and chattels, and to certify the king before the Nativity of the Blessed Mary next. By K. Return (undated). The said Thomas held, on the day he died, the manor of Calverton, co. Buckingham, for a term of ten years by the demise of Thomas de Veer, earl of Oxford, at a yearly rent of 40l., of which term four years have already elapsed. It is held of the king in chief by homage and fealty. The deceased had therein two cart horses, worth 10s., eight oxen, worth 64s., two plough horses, worth 4s., a young bull (taurellum) worth 4s., nine cows, worth 60s., 162 sheep, worth 6l. 15s., of which sheep a certain Gilbert de Crosseby, feodary of Sir Edward, prince of Wales, by order of the said prince, sold thirty for 40s. and took away the money with him. The deceased had, on the day he died, 36a. land sown with wheat, worth 4l. 10s., 20a. land sown with drage, worth 40s., 16a. land sown with beans and peas, worth 24s., 10a. land sown with oats, worth 15s., and 11 loads of hay, worth 11s.

NORTHAMPTON.	Inq. taken at Northampton, Thursday before the Decollation of St. John the Baptist, 27 Edward III.
	To the same effect mainly as the above Northampton inquisition, adding that the said Thomas de Ferariis had at Newbotle, on the day he died, the following:— 8qrs. of wheat by estimation, price 3s. a quarter; 3qrs. of mesline, viz. rye and wheat, price 2s. a quarter; 8qrs. of peas, price 2s. a quarter; 24qrs. of drage, price 20d. a quarter; 5qrs. oats, price 18d. a quarter; and 12 hoggets, price 20d. each. He had no more goods or chattels, lands or tenements in the county.

LEICESTER.	Inq. taken at Leicester, Wednesday after St. Lawrence, 27 Edward III.
	He had no goods or chattels, lands or tenements in the county which could be appraised or extended
WARWICK.	Inq. taken at Wolfricheston, Monday after St. Laurence, 27 Edward III.
	He had no lands or tenements in the county which can be appraised, but he had there the following goods and chattels at Wolfricheston:—40qrs. wheat, by estimation in sheaves, at 3s. the quarter; 20qrs. rye, by estimation in sheaves, at 2s. 6d.; 50qrs. drage, by estimation in sheaves, at 2s. 6d.; 10qrs. oats, by estimation in sheaves, at 2s., and 10qrs. peas, by estimation in sheaves, at 20d. He had no more goods or chattels in the county which can be appraised.
	Writ, 28 August, 27 Edward III.
OXFORD.	Inq. taken at Burcestre, 1 March, 28 Edward III.
	Lyllingstan Dansy. The manor held for his life of the inheritance of Stephen de Trafford, son of Stephen de Trafford; the reversion whereof after the death of the said Thomas the said Stephen granted to William Baret and his heirs by fine levied in the king’s court. The said manor is held of John Dansi by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee. He died on 18 July last. Heir not given.
	Writ of certiorari to Gilbert Chasteleyn, sheriff of Warwick and Leicester, referring to above inquisitions by the said Gilbert and desiring to be certified what lands and tenements, goods and chattels the said Thomas held in those counties that cannot be appraised, the return to be made before the feast of St. Matthew under penalty of 20l. Because of the said Gilbert’s insufficient return in this matter the king fines him 40s. 6 September, 27 Edward III.
	Endorsed by the sheriff that the said Thomas had no lands or tenements in co. Warwick and no lands or tenements, goods or chattels in co. Leicester, as more fully appears in the accompanying inquisitions.
WARWICK.	Inq. taken at Warwick, Tuesday after the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, 27 Edward III.
	He had no lands or tenements in the county.
LEICESTER.	Inq. taken at Leicester, Friday before the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, 27 Edward III.
	He had no lands or tenements, goods or chattels in the county.

ESSEX.	Inq. taken at Branketre, Wednesday before St. Gregory, 28 Edward III.
	Fayrstede. The manor (extent given) held for his life of the demise of Henry de Ferariis, with reversion to the said Henry, of the king as of the honour of Peverel, by service of a knight’s fee. He held no other lands &c. in the county. He died on Thursday after St. James last. William de Ferariis, son and heir of the aforesaid Henry de Ferariis, aged 21 years on 2 March last, is his heir.

99.	JOAN, LATE THE WIFE OF JOHN DE HELYNG or DE HEYLING.
	Writ after the death of the said Joan, who held by knight’s service of the heir of John de Bello Monte, a minor in the king’s wardship. 5 September, 27 Edward III.
LINCOLN.	Inq. taken at Grymesby, Friday after St. Matthew, 27 Edward III.
	Helyng. The manor held for life of the gift of Thomas, son of the said John de Helyng, who had it of the gift of his said father, after whose death he granted it to his mother, as above, with remainder to the heirs male of William de Helyng, son of the said John and Joan, which William married and died in the lifetime of his father and mother, having begotten a son John. Joan continued her estate in the manor until her death, after which the said John, son and heir of William, as purchaser (ut perquisitor) by virtue of the aforesaid grant, entered upon the manor before the king seized it. The site of the said manor and three carucates of land are held of the heir of John de Bello Monte, in the king’s wardship, by knight’s service, as of the fee of Bayous; and the residue of the manor, viz. seven bovates of land, is held of William de Hagh, by service of 14d. yearly. The whole of the manor, long since (dudum) in the possession of the said John de Helyng, father of the said William de Helyng, was charged by the said John with 20l. yearly to William his son and Margery his wife, who survives, for their lives. She died on Wednesday before St. James, 27 Edward III. John, son of William de Helyng, aged 15 years, is her kinsman and heir.

LINCOLN.	Inq. taken at Heyling, 10 March, 28 Edward III.
	Heylinges. The manor (extent given, with field-names) and 50a. of salt pasture often flooded lying on the river Hombre, 16a. meadow and a water-mill charged with 12s. to the heirs of Thomas Caus, in Great Cotes, which are parcel of the said manor, held for life of the gift of Sir Thomas, parson of the church of Heyling. The manor of Heyling was charged by John de Heyling with 20l. yearly to Margery, late the wife of William de Heyling. The said Joan also held for life as above five bovates of land in Heyling of William de Haghe, by service of 14d. yearly, and what by other services they know not. The manor of Heyling and the tenements in Cotes are held of the heir of John de Bello Monte, a minor in the king’s wardship, by service of a knight’s fee, as of the fees of Bayeux, which fees came into the king’s hand by the death of the mother of John de Bello Monte, whose name the jurors know not, and they remain in the king’s hand with the manor of Hekynton and other lands which the mother of John de Bello Monte held for her life. The earl of Arundel holds the said manor to farm, together with other lands and tenements which were hers, until the lawful age of the heir, as they understand. She held no other lands &c. in the county. Date of death and heir as above.

LINCOLN.	Inq. taken at Grymesby, 20 February, 28 Edward III.
	John de Heylyng charged his manor of Heylyng with the above rent to William his son and Margery his wife, who survives, on Saturday after St. Hilary, 11 Edward III, and the heirs of their bodies. The said William and Margery were seised of this rent by the hands of John de Helyng during all the life of William; after whose death Margery was seised thereof by the hands of John, and after his death of Joan his wife, who had estate in the manor jointly with John for her life. Margery continued her seisin of the manor till Wednesday before St. James last when Joan died.

100.	ROBERT GYEN or DE GYEN of Bristoll.
	Writ of certiorari touching the estate of Robert in the manor of Kyngesdon, co. Somerset, 6 June, 27 Edward III.
SOMERSET.	Inq. taken at Mountagu, Wednesday after the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 27 Edward III.
	Kyngesdon. He held the manor (extent given, including 60a. of wood) as executor of Roger Turtle, to whom Brian de Gouyz demised it for twelve years, of which term eight years had elapsed at the feast of St. George last, and so the said Robert’s estate therein is for the next four years. The manor was, long before this demise, charged by the said Brian with 20l. rent yearly to John and Brian, his sons, for their lives, and with half a bushel of wheat weekly to John de Hymereforde for life; and John, Brian and John remained in seisin until the manor was taken into the king’s hand amongst other lands &c. of Robert Gyen.

MIDDLESEX.	Inq. taken at Westminster, Monday after the Conversion of St. Paul, 27 January, 28 Edward III.
	He held no lands &c. in the county. He died at Fulham on Thursday, 23 January, 27 Edward III. Heir not known.

GLOUCESTER.	Inq. taken at Bristol, Thursday after St. Valentine, 28 Edward III.
	Olveston. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held for life and for two years thereafter, during which his executors or his assigns can dispose of the manor and present fit persons to the church at their will. He held no other lands &c. in the bailiwick. He died on 21 January, 28 (sic) Edward III. Robert Gyene of co. Somerset, of full age, is his heir.

GLOUCESTER.	Inq., Friday the morrow of St. Benedict, 28 Edward III.
	Bristoll. A tenement called ‘Berwykestenement,’ held in right of Egelina his wife, who survives, of the king in chief by service of socage. He held no other lands &c. in the county. He died on Thursday before the Conversion of St. Paul, 27 Edward III. Robert Gyene, of co. Somerset, his kinsman, of full age, is his heir.
	Writ, 22 January, 27 Edward III.
SOMERSET.	Inq. taken at Jevele, Wednesday the feast of St. Gregory, 28 Edward III.
	Clotton. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held for his life of John de Greyvyle, of the grant of the said John by service of rendering to him and his heirs a rose yearly. The reversion belongs to the heir of the said John, a minor in the wardship of the earl of Hereford. The manor and advowson are held of the said earl by service of 1 1/2 knights’ fees and suit at the earl’s court of Monckenefarlegh every three weeks. Alice, daughter of the said John Greyvyle, aged nine years and more, is his heir. Norton Hautevyle. The manor held of the right of Egelyna his wife, who survives, sometime wife of John de Wyke. The said John and Egelyna held it jointly, to them and the heirs of their bodies, by fine levied in the king’s court, of the bishop of Bath by knight’s service. Wyke. The manor held as of the dower of the said Egelyna, who holds it, in composition for her dower from the whole free tenement, late of John de Wyke her first husband, of the bishop of Bath by knight’s service. Hasele and Shortecomb. Lands &c. (not specified) held jointly with the said Egelyna for a term of 27 years after the date of this inquisition, of the grant of brother John de Holebrok, master of the Hospital of St. John the Baptist by the gate of la Redeclyve, and the brethren and sisters there, by service of 60s. yearly. The premises should after that term revert to the Hospital. Bedmynstre and Knolle. Two messuages, a carucate of land and 9a. meadow held jointly with John de Strete, who survives, of the gift of Hugh atte Boure to them and their heirs, which messuages and land are held of John de Gornay by fealty. Gorewell. Lands &c. (not specified) held for a term of 27 years after the date of this inquisition of the grant of Ralph, abbot of St. Augustine’s, Bristol, with reversion to the abbot. He died on Thursday before the Conversion of St. Paul last. Robert, son of John Gyene, a clerk, convicted and in the prison of the bishop of Bath at Welles, aged 30 years and more, is kinsman and heir of the said Robert.
	Writ to enquire whether the said Robert held lands &c. in Somerset, of which no mention was made in the inquisition taken after his death. 3 April, 28 Edward III.
SOMERSET.	Inq. taken at Somerton, Monday after St. Barnabas, 28 Edward III.
	He held no other lands &c. of the king in chief or of others in the bailiwick except:— Kyngesdon. The manor held by him as executor of Roger Turtle, deceased, for a term of three years from the feast of St. George last, which manor Brian de Gouyz demised to the said Roger for a term of twelve years, nine years of which had elapsed before the said feast. It is held of Robert le Latymer by knight’s service. Longesutton. A messuage and 60a. land called ‘Abelak’ held for life of the abbot of Athelyngneye by service of 22s. 8d. yearly, with reversion to the abbot. He held no other lands &c. in the bailiwick.
	Writ of plenius certiorari, the prior of Bath having informed the king that the said Robert had no estate in the manor and advowson of Olveston save for life only, by demise of the said prior, as appears by the king’s letters patent which the prior has exhibited in the Chancery, and petitioned that the said manor and advowson be delivered to him, which were taken into the king’s hand by the escheator as the chattels of the said Robert. 18 May, 28 Edward III.
GLOUCESTER.	Inq. taken at Olveston, 25 May, 28 Edward III.
	Olveston. The manor and advowson of the church there held for life only, by the demise of John, now prior of Bath. He had no other estate in the said manor and advowson, which are held of Walter de Gloucestre by service of doing suit at his hundred of Langeley every three weeks and are not held of the king.

101.	ALAN MOYGNE or MOIGNE of Hesel.
	Writ, 18 August, 27 Edward III.
YORK.	Inq. taken at Neubald, Monday before St. Matthew, 27 Edward III.
	Hesel. A bovate of land held, as of the fee of Stotevill, of John de Wythomsee, who still survives, and of Ralph de Leek, then surviving, by homage and by service of an eightieth part of a knight’s fee and 1lb. pepper yearly. By the law of England the said Ralph de Leek of the inheritance of Margaret, sometime his wife, deceased, and the said John de Wythornsee, of the inheritance of Alice his wife, deceased, daughter and heir of Ellen, (fn. 1) sister of the aforesaid Margaret, held, together and indivisibly, a messuage in York of the king in chief by homage and by service of keeping the gaol of the king’s forest of Galtres, which is in the same messuage, receiving for the said custody 5d. daily from the farm of the city by the hands of the bailiffs. The said Alan died whilst the said John de Wythornsee and Ralph de Leek so held their pourparties by the law of England, and he held the said bovate of land in Hesel of them by the service aforesaid. Robert, son of the said John de Wythornsee and Alice, aged about nine years, is heir of both pourparties, but, at the time the said Alan died, no inheritance descended to him because John and Ralph were then surviving. Afterwards the said Ralph died, on 29 October, 26 Edward III, and after his death his moiety of the messuage and of the other lands Ralph so held of the heir’s inheritance descended to the said heir, the custody of which the king has now granted to John de Wythornsee to hold to the lawful age of the said heir. Hesel. Three bovates of land held of John de Bilton by service of a clove yearly; three bovates of land held of the prior of Watton by service of 8d. yearly; two acres of land held of the prior of Haltemprice by service of 6d. yearly; a messuage held of the prior of Gisburn by service of 1lb. cummin yearly. The aforesaid tenements in Hesel were charged by John Moigne, father of the deceased, with 30s. rent yearly to William his son, brother of the deceased, and his heirs. The said William still survives and receives the said rent every year. He held no other lands &c. in the county. He died on 1 August, 23 Edward III, in the pestilence. William his son, aged 17 years and more, is his heir and is not married.

102.	JOHN DE SAUNDRESTEDE of Rodbaston.

WARWICK.	Inq. taken at Chesterton, 20 August, 27 Edward III.
	Chesterton. The manor (extent given, including an enclosed wood of 10a.) held jointly with Elizabeth his wife, now dead, for their lives, of the grant of Master Stephen de Bromleye, clerk, by fine levied in the king’s court, with remainder to John, son of Nicholas de Warr’, and Margaret his wife and the heirs of their bodies; which John, son of Nicholas, and Margaret are dead. The manor is held of the king in chief by service of keeping the king’s forest of Cannok. Morton Daubeneye. A moiety of the manor. Erdynton. A third part of the manor. Both held of the inheritance of Margaret, late his wife, who survives, of the duke of Lancaster and John Buttourte by knight’s service. He held no other lands &c. in the county. He died on 15 July last. Eleanor, daughter of the said John son of Nicholas and Margaret, married to John son of William de Peyto, aged 21 years and more at Easter last, is their heir.

	Writ, 18 October, 27 Edward III.
SALOP.	Inq. taken at Stoke-upon-Tyrne, Monday after All Saints, 27 Edward III.
	Leeton. A moiety of the manor (extent given) held for life of the king in chief by service of 3s. 4d. yearly at the Exchequer by the hands of the sheriff of Salop, of the demise of William de Bykerton and William Banastre of Hadenhale, by the king’s charter of licence dated 10 October, 24 Edward III, with remainder to Reynold, son of Cicely de Habberleye, and Alice, daughter of John de Lee, and the heirs of the bodies of the said Reynold and Alice, with further remainder to Thomas, son of William de Burleton, and the heirs of his body. He died on 10 October last. Richard de Burleton, son of William de Burleton, aged 22 years at Michaelmas last, is his heir in blood.

	Hatfeld Peverel. A tenement containing 120a. land, 3a. meadow, 12a. pasture, and 4a. wood held of the honour of Peverel by knight’s service; 4l. rent held of the king in chief as of his crown by knight’s service. Falkeburn. Two parts of the manor held of the honour of Gloucester (service not stated). Great Totham, Little Totham and Hebregge. A messuage, 440a. land, 20a. meadow, 30a. pasture, 28a. wood and 4l. rent held of the prior of Hatfeld by fealty and service of 13s. 4d. yearly. Horndon. Lands and tenements called ‘Ardernehalle’ held of the castle of Dover, which is in the king’s hand, service not known. Robert Marny, knight, from the time of the said Thomas’s death until now has been in possession of the premises in Hatfeld Peverel, and has received the issues and profits thereof. He has also been in possession of the premises in Falkbourn, Great Totham, Little Totham and Hebregge for three years and received the issues. Giles de Westmelne, citizen and clothier of London, has been in possession of the premises in Horndon for three years and more and received the issues. Thomas Fabel died on 20 May, 23 Edward III. John his son, aged 17 years and more, is his next heir.
	Writ to the escheator to enquire as to the land and heir of the said Thomas, 24 February, 27 Edward III.
ESSEX.	Inq. taken at Chelmersford, 23 (sic) February, 27 Edward III.
	Hatfeld Peverel. 4l. rent held of the king in chief as of his crown by knight’s service; a tenement containing 120a. land &c. as in the previous inquisition, held of the king in chief as of the honour of Peverel by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee and by suit every month at the king’s court of Hatfeld. Falkebourne. Two parts of the manor held as of the honour of Gloucester. Great Totham, Little Totham and Hebrugge. A messuage &c. as above held of the prior of Hatfeld as above. Horndon. Lands &c. as above, tenure not known; a quarter of the market of Horndon pertaining to Ardernehall held of the king as of the honour of Boulogne, service not known. Robert de Marny and Giles de Westmelne are in possession as above. He died on 20 May, 24 Edward III. Heir as above.

CAMBRIDGE.	Inq. taken at Swafham Bolbek, Tuesday before the Annunciation, 28 Edward III.
	Iselham. A manor there held jointly with Margaret his wife, who survives, of the gift of Robert Wynclyf and William de Swynthweyt, knight, and Richard, parson of the church of Candelsby, of the earl of Arundel by service of sending to Heryngesmare a gammon of bacon (pernam baconis) fixed on a lance, for the use of the said earl, when he shall pass through the said place to war. He died on Friday after St. Hilary last. Joan his daughter, aged 5 years and more, is his heir.

YORK.	Inq. taken at York, Friday after the Annunciation, 28 Edward III.
	Hundemanby. A third part of the manor (extent given) held jointly with Margaret his wife, who survives, to them and the heirs of their bodies, of the king in chief as of the crown by knight’s service, with remainder to the right heirs of the said John. The extent includes a third part of the toll of a weekly market on Wednesday. Westwytton. The manor held jointly as above of Sir John de Gandavo, earl of Richemond, as of the honour of Richemond, by knight’s service. 	Bokenham. A fourth part of the manor, as above. The extent includes 33a. land at ‘le Dikhous,’ pastures there and at ‘le Hommedewe’; at New Bokenham a windmill, a market, and a fair on St. Martin’s day, 6d. yearly from Attelburgh market: at New Bokenham 6s. 8d. from Lundgavel, from the profit of Portmancurt 3s. 4d. yearly, ‘le Knytcurt’ worth 5s. yearly; 30 works called ‘Beons,’ 24 works called ‘Byndynges,’ and others specified. 	Ruthyn. The castle and the cantred of Deffrencloyt and the lands late of Wenthliane de Lascy in that cantred and in the cantred of Englefeld held of the king in chief by service of three knights’ fees. The castle needs 10l. yearly for repairs. Contiguous to it is the borough of Ruthyn, where there are three fairs yearly on the feasts of Pentecost, St. Matthew and All Saints, and a weekly market on Monday, four watermills annexed to the castle, and parks called ‘Little Park,’ ‘Clockaynok,’ ‘Brenkyff,’ ‘Polepark’ and ‘Bathavern’ and a chace worth only 20s. yearly because the pasture is common and there is no underwood. Deffrencloyt. The cantred contains three commotes, viz. Doguelyn, Lanner and Collyan, whose rent from free tenants is 60l. yearly and from bond tenants 80l. The lands of Wenthliane in this cantred are worth 40s. yearly. Englefeld. The lands of the said Wenthliane in the cantred of Englefeld, viz. NORTHAMPTON.	Inq. taken at Wakerle, Tuesday before St. George, 27 Edward III.
	Wakerle. The manor (extent given) held for her life of the grant of John de Cleydon, parson of the church of Mammecestre, by fine levied before the justices of the Bench, 5 Edward III, to John la Warre and Joan his wife and the heirs of the said John. The said manor is held of the king in chief by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee. The extent includes an enclosed park, in which are 80a. of wood by estimation, whereof 40a. are outside the covert of the wood as lawn (launda) for the maintenance of deer; the remaining 40a. are large oaks and underwood. She held no other lands &c. in the county. She died on Wednesday before Easter Sunday, viz. on 20 March last. Roger, son of John la Warre, son of the aforesaid John, aged 25 years and more, is the heir of the said John and Joan.

	Swynesheved. The manor (extent given) held for her life of the gift of Thomas Grelle to her and John her husband and the heirs of the said John, as appears by a fine in the king’s court, of Henry, duke of Lancaster, by service of a knight’s fee. The extent includes 8a. called ‘Merepasture,’ 30a. lying by the marsh worth 30s. only because often flooded and only to be mown in dry weather, a profit in the marsh from turbary of 40s. in dry weather and 10s. in wet, 4 salt pans (saline) worth 26s. 8d. from SS. Philip and James to St. Martin, and nothing the rest of the year because they stand empty and unworked (non occupate), a market on Thursday and a fair on St. Matthew’s day. Burtofte. A messuage, 120a. arable, 20a. meadow, 20a. pasture and 9l. rent, parcel of the manor of Swynesheved and held of the duke of Lancaster as parcel of that manor.
