Writ 24 Oct., inq. 15 Jan., 6 Hen. VII.
He enfeoffed William Husee, knt., chief justice of the king’s bench, Thomas Bryan, knt., chief justice of the common pleas, William Hody, chief baron of the exchequer, Thomas Sapcote, gent., and John Crevequer, of the under-mentioned manors in Herefordshire. The said feoffees subsequently, viz. in Michaelmas term, 3 Hen. VII, suffered a recovery of the said manors to Guy Fairfax, knt., and John Sulyard, knt., who gave them to James Audeley, knt., son and now heir of the said John, and to Joan his wife, daughter of Fulk Borcher, late Lord de Fitzwaren, in tail, with remainder in default to the right heirs of the said John de Audeley.
He died 6 Oct., 6 Hen. VII, seised of the under-mentioned manors, &c., in the Marches in fee. The said James de Audeley, knt., aged 25 and more, is his son and heir.

He obtained the King’s licence and enfeoffed William Husse, knt., chief justice of the king’s bench, Thomas Bryan, knt., chief justice of the common pleas, James Baskervile, knt., Hugh Egerton, esq., William Marten, and others, of the under-mentioned castle, manors, and lands to the use of his will. The said feoffees subsequently suffered a recovery of the manor of Great Aston, and a moiety of the manor of Fordisham, parcel thereof, to Guy Farefax, and John Sulyard, knts., as in the de Banco Roll, Michs. Term, 3 Hen. VII., ccclxxxx, to the use of Sir James Audeley, knt., now Lord de Audeley, his son and heir, and Joan wife of the said Sir James, daughter of Fulk Bourcher, knt., Lord de Fitzwaren, in tail, with remainder in default to the right heirs of the said John.
He died 22 Sept. last. James Audeley, knt., aged 25 and more, is his son and heir.

By deed dated 20 May, 20 Edw. IV, he gave the under-mentioned manors of Byre Burnell and Otehull, to one Thomas Beauchampe, esq., Christopher Coke, and John Orenge, now deceased, and William Carant, John Byconyll, John Fitzjames, John Hody, and John Crukerne, esqs., John More of Columton. William Collys, William Touker of Wyke, and Richard Jeue, who survive, to the use of his will, and by his said last will directed that his surviving feoffees should suffer his wife Isabel to take the issues and profits of the said manors for the term of twenty years, to pay his debts, educate his four sons, and marry all his daughters, and should at the end of the said term give the said premises to John, his son and heir apparent, in tail, with remainder to Tristram Burnell in tail, with remainder to Peter Burnell in tail, with remainder to William Burnell in tail, with remainder in default to his own right heirs.

The castle of Skelton, of no value beyond the necessary repairs, because it is ruinous, to the amount of at least 10 marks, the manor of Skelton, and the manor of Mersk, worth 21l., and a moiety of the advowson of the patronage of the Priory of Gyseburn in Clyveland, appendent to the manor of Skelton, of no yearly value over and above the prayers of the canons, held of the King in chief, by service of one knight’s fee.
Manor of Ridker, 49 messuages, 3 tofts, 200a. land, 20l. rent, and the toll and profit of the small boats of Ridker in Ridker aforesaid, called ‘cobleferme,’ worth 10l. yearly over and above deductions and incumbrances, held of the King in chief, by service of 1/2 of a knight’s fee.

He died 26 Sept., 6 Hen. VII. James Audeley, aged 27 and more, is his son and heir.

He died seised of the under-mentioned moiety of the manor of Harwod in tail male, by the gift of Thomas Thwates, and William Barker, made by way of fine, with the King’s licence, to one William Ryther, knt., and Sibyl his wife, thereof, in tail male, with remainder in default to her right heirs, he being cousin and heir male of the said William and Sibyl, viz. son of William, son of William their son.
He also died seised in tail male of the under-mentioned manor and advowson of Ryther, by virtue of the gift thereof made by John son of Robert Roos, by way of fine and with the King’s licence, to one William Ryther and Lucy his wife in tail male, with remainder to the right heirs of the said William, he being cousin and heir male of the said William and Lucy, viz. son of William, son of William, son of William, son of Robert, son of Robert, son of Robert their son.
He died the last day of June last, seised of the other under-mentioned manors and lands in fee. Ralph Ryther, esq., aged 40 and more, is his brother and next heir.

He enfeoffed Thomas Gresell, citizen and draper of London, and Ralph Wygge of Leddeburn in the parish of Mentmore, of the under-mentioned messuages and land who being seised of the premises accordingly in fee demised them to Agnes his wife for the term of her life.
He died 12 Aug., 3 Hen. VII. John Falwell, aged 5 and more, is his son and heir.

Writ de Ætate probanda 15 March, probatio œtatis the Monday before Midsummer day, 6 Hen. VII.
SOMERS. He was born at Chippeley and baptized in the church of Nyned Florey, which is the parish church of Chippeley, on the feast of St. Edmund the King and Martyr, 7 Edw. IV, John Kyng, Richard Wykes, esq., and Sybil Kigeley being gossips. On the same day Robert Chilcote’s daughter Christine was born, John Shepherd bought a tenement in Milverton a mile away from Chippeley, Richard Houper began a pilgrimage to the chapel of Our Lady of Clyve, &c.
His lands of inheritance were in the custody of James Seyntleger, esq., John Brok an, and Richard Feldyng, merchant, by grant from King Richard III.

John Scudamore, knt., being seised of the under-mentioned manor of Mockas in fee gave it, together with other manors, lands, and tenements to Eustace Whiteney of Whiteney, esq., Urry de la Haye of Wyrkebroke, esq., and William Rose of Brockebere, gent., to the use of his last will, and by his said will directed William Rose, the surviving feoffee, to make an estate of the said manor to the said Henry Scudamore in tail, with remainder to his own right heirs.
He died without issue 4 Oct., 5 Hen. VII. James Scudamore, aged 19 and more, is his cousin and heir, viz. son and heir of Thomas, son and heir of James Scudamore his brother; the said James is also cousin and heir of the said John Scudamore, knt., viz. son and heir of Thomas, son and heir of James, his son and heir.

One William Hawton being seised of the under-mentioned manor and land in fee married at Dorlaston one Ellen Fitton, by whom he had issue Thomas, who succeeded him, John who died without issue, and Elizabeth who inherited the premises on the death without issue of her brother Thomas. She being seised of the said manor and lands accordingly in fee, had issue the said Richard Whalley, a bastard, begotten and born out of wedlock. Afterwards she married, at Donifront, one Christopher Whalley, by whom she had issue, after marriage, Gilimot and Elizabeth, the former of whom married, at Berry, co. Lancashire, one John Talbot, and the latter died without issue. After the death of the said Elizabeth the mother the said Christopher, who survived her was seised of the premises in his demesne as of frank tenement, as tenant by the curtesy, and died so seised, when the said John Talbot and Gilimot his wife, in her right, entered on and were seised of the premises in fee. And being so seised the said John and Gilimot demised the said manor and land to the said Richard Whalley for the term of his life, who was seised thereof accordingly in his demesne as of frank tenement; and being so seised, by deed dated 1 Aug., 17 Edw. IV, he enfeoffed Thomas, Lord Stanley, knt., Thomas Vaughan, knt., and others, thereof, to the use of his last will, and by his last will dated 27 July, 2 Hen. VII, directed that the said John and Gilimot should enjoy the premises, to them and the heirs of their bodies for ever. On his death the said John and Gilimot entered into possession of the premises, and have taken all the issues and profits thereof, from that time to the present. They have had issue a son John Talbot, who survives.

The said John and Marjory had issue a son John, who survived his mother, but died in his father’s lifetime, leaving issue William, his son and heir. The said John Conyers, knt., the father, died 14 March, 5 Hen. VII seised of a moiety of the said pension in his demesne as of frank tenement, as tenant by the curtesy after the death of the said Marjory, with reversion to the said William, who is aged 21 and more, as her cousin and heir.

He was seised together with Margery his wife of the under-mentioned manors and advowson in fee, in her right, and being so seised, by deed dated at Horneby, 4 March, 5 Edw. IV, they charged their moieties of the manor of Belforth and the hamlet of Yesyngton with an annuity of 10 marks in favour of Richard Conyers their son, who survives, for the term of his life.
By deed dated 20 March, 9 Edw. IV, the said John and Margery gave all the said manors, advowson, and lands to John Pikryng, Thomas Tunstall, William Tunstall, Richard Conyers of Cowton, knt., and Cuthbert Lightfote, who survive, and others, now deceased, to the use of their last will. She subsequently died intestate in respect of the said premises, and the said John after her death, by a certain indenture, dated 20 April, 9 Edw. IV, declared his will, viz. that the said feoffees on due request made to them should enfeoff the heir of the bodies of the said John and Margery thereof in fee.
He died 14 March, 5 Hen. VII. William Conyers, esq., is his cousin and heir, and heir also of the said Margery, viz. son of John their son. The said William was aged 21 on the feast of St. Thomas the Apostle last before Christmas.
N’TH’L’D. One Nicholas Jerves of Hardby, ‘gentilman,’ gave the under-mentioned rents, messuages, and land, to John Brabesshon and the said Maud his wife, daughter of him the said Nicholas, in tail. She survived the said John, and died 14 Oct., 6 Hen. VII. Roger Brabesshon, aged 14 and more, is the son and heir of the said Roger (sic) and Maud; he is in the custody of the Lady Elizabeth, Duchess of Norfolk, because the said Roger (sic) his father was seised at his death of 10 messuages and 10 virgates of land in Estwell, co. Leicester, which he held of the said Duchess by knight-service.
LEIC. Fifteen shillings of quit rent, viz. 22d. issuing from the lands of Nicholas Cawnte of Hardby, 5s. issuing from the lands and tenements of John Rose of Hardby, 5s. from the lands and tenements of Gabriel Harbyof Stathern, 16d. from the lands and tenements of John Gee, and 22d., from the lands and tenements of John Chace, both of Stathern.

One William Aldewyncle, esq., being seised of the under-mentioned lands in fee, enfeoffed Richard Pittes the elder thereof to the use of his last will; and by his last will, dated 27 Aug., A.D. 1463, directed that the said Elizabeth his wife should have the premises for the term of her life, with remainder to Thomas Lenton, his cousin and heir, viz. son of John, son of William, son of Margaret, sister of William Tychemersh, father of John, father of him the said William Aldewyncle, to hold to the said Thomas Lenton, his heirs and assigns for ever. In accordance with the said will the said Richard Pittes after the testator’s death gave the premises to the said Elizabeth for the term of her life, with remainder to Richard Burton, esq., otherwise called Richard Pyttes the younger, John Chaumbre, clk., and John Chaumbre, rector of Tychemersh, to the use of the said Thomas Lenton and his heirs.
She died 10 June last. John Dutton, esq., aged 50 and more, is her brother and heir.

Upon a proposal of marriage between him and Elizabeth one of the daughters of John Hopton, esq., Thomas Brewes, knt., his father in consideration of 700 marks paid him by the said John, agreed that the under-mentioned manor, whereof he was seised in fee tail, should descend immediately on his decease to the said William then his son and heir apparent, in tail, and he accordingly enfeoffed William Calthorpe and John Hevenyngham, knts., and others now deceased, thereof to the use of the said William and Elizabeth in tail.
He survived his wife, the said Elizabeth, and died the last day but one of October, 5 Hen. VII. Thomasine wife of Thomas Hansard, knt., aged 30 and more, and Anne wife of Roger Towneshend, son and heir of Roger Towneshend, knt., aged 15 and more, are their daughters and heirs.
